Our get together come Christmas Party on Saturday 16th was at Cin Cin's Wine Bar Deal, from 15:00 Brian the owner opened just for our club, with 26 attending after a few dropped out due to illness, with nice surroundings a simlpe finger buffet and background music (not to loud) the Whitecliffs members still seemed to make one hell of a noise, mostly coming it must be said from the Thanet contingent with a certain member from Finglesham holding his own very well, we all seemed t...

End of Season 2017

Posted by Joe & Mary on November 17, 2017 at 8:40 AM Comments comments (0)

This year our End of Season Run was a little different from usual, starting at The Great Danes Hotel Maidstone, although a large Hotel with a wedding show on they still looked after us very well, with a parking area & plenty of tea, coffee & biscuits also an allocated area for us to sit, we were really impressed, starting out of our usual area we travelled to Sussex & the lovely Ashdown Forrest, taking in some completely different roads, unfortunately no-one had tim...

Dover Regatta

Posted by Joe & Mary on August 29, 2017 at 11:20 AM Comments comments (0)

With the best weather for an August Bank Holiday for 48 years. Just one of my anorak facts. This is a totally free event sponsored by Dover Harbour Board, with numerous exhibitors, bands one of which was working it's way through the decades of pop music, Lesley & Mary were dancing, always a very strange thing to do when sober I feel, with different competitions taking place on the water & the Dover & Deal Lifeboats doing a display. The car show side was organised by the Dover Tran...

Bat & Trap @ the Dog & Duck

Posted by Joe & Mary on August 29, 2017 at 11:10 AM Comments comments (1)

28 members & a few friends attended our August club meeting, we rushed through the agenda leaving more for the September meeting, as the aim was to play Bat & Trap with a BBQ hence the different venue. After some brief instruction from the Landlady we eventually managed to organise ourselves into four teams of seven, after a while we started to get the idea, so when we do it again which I am sure from the response from everyone there we will, we will be a bit more competetive, f...

Club BBQ 23rd July

Posted by Joe & Mary on August 1, 2017 at 8:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Paul & Jilly our more sensible & staid members (who am I kidding) organised a BBQ for the club, with music played by Scott his son, on his vinyl collection, kept everyone entertained with music going back to Prince Buster mid sixties, the only thing missing was a strange sickly smelling smoke in he air I can remember from a real dive in Margate I used to visit, The BBQ nearly made up for that, Jilly's son Jack did us proud with his cooking, with all the girls dancing an...

Nurburgring 25th June

Posted by Joe & Mary on August 1, 2017 at 8:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Ever since us both driving my MG around the Nurburgring in 2011 Mary & Myself have always wanted to do the Ring Taxi, in fact we put it on our Bucket List, this is a BMW M5 standard except for racing tyres, and always driven by a professional racing driver who knows the track inside out, we stayed in the Hotel an der Nordschleite at Adenau, 5 miles from the entrance to the circuit, but only metres from the track, the Hotel is where all the petrol heads stay, so the car park...

Some of the things we have done this year

Posted by Joe & Mary on July 6, 2017 at 10:40 AM Comments comments (0)

On 7th May 5 cars went to Leeds Castle, a beautiful setting with the grounds to walk around & the Castle, a very good show, really busy with long queues to get in, but everyone said it was fantastic once the weather warmed up.
On the same weekend 2 cars went down to Cowdrey House in Midhurst, a show with an organised run beforehand, and with loads of Supercars going in the opposite direction to Goodwood, quite an unexpected spectacle.
Tenterden on 14...

COBWEB RUN SUNDAY 23rd APRIL 2017

Posted by Marie & Buster on April 24, 2017 at 7:25 PM Comments comments (3)

The day began by meeting at Chilham Car park. It was a bit chilly, tho the walkers that were there looked very well wrapped up! Once we had our sheets we set off one by one on our 20.6 mile journey to Macknades. The journey was not eventful, winding our way through Chartham Hatch, Dargate, Druidstone, Graveney and into Faversham to our destination. Almost everyone arrived following the directions except Jim and Josie who had a detour to Whitstable! During the run we had a photo sheet of vario...
