At our monthly meetings our club has a raffle, the proceeds going to charity. This year we donated the £300 raised to KELLY  TURNER a sixteen year old from Dover, with a rare desmoplastic small round cell tumour cancer, that she needs to go to America for treatment as it is not available in the UK, Marcus & Cathie handed the cheque over at a fund raising event at the Dover Working Mens club,  see photo of hand over in photo gallery

This year organised by Andy & Sandra, they very bravely started at the Viking Ship at Cliffsend near Ramsgate at the lovely little kiosk but with little protection from the elements, fortunately the weather was kind to us and lasted all day becoming quite sunny in the afternoon, with a lovely run out to the Elham Valley Vineyard at Barham for coffee, then back via Sturry to the Jolly Farmer at Manston for lunch, always a bit tight for parking, Andy had man...

Nine cars attended, after winning best club stand last year the pressure was on to repeat our success, with an array of flags & Teddy Bears, always popular with the children, and all the members on best behaviour (who am I kidding) low & behold we did it again, well done everyone. The show coincided with Capel having it's annual Garage sale, so we could all enjoy looking and buying other peoples pre loved items.

Le Mans Classic & Chartres Luminaire

Keeping away from motorways to our overnight stop at Chartres, Via Pacy-sur-Evre & generally heading south avoiding the larger towns. Chartres like many larger French towns in this area, have a light show in the Old Town throughout the summer, we had to sit outside in a bar in the Old Town Square waiting for darkness which arrived at 23.00pm and a bottle of wine later, but it was well worth the wait, following blue lights set in the ground it took us about a...

25th Laon Classic & Monet's Garden

Posted by Joe & Mary on June 6, 2016 at 9:45 AM Comments comments (1)

With free coffee, tea & biscuits on the ferry, on the 13th May 9 cars drove down to Laon, checking the weather forecast that looked awful, we ended up with a beautiful few days with temperatures in th 20's. Based at a Campanile, with good parking & easy access, though never enough staff even though they knew they were full up, on the Saturday with 1000 cars to register I thought it would be very chaotic, but it only took 10-15 mins to get parked & registration was v...

Leeds Castle 8th May 2016

Posted by Joe & Mary on May 12, 2016 at 6:20 AM Comments comments (0)

A good turnout of 8 cars from the club went to Motors by the Moat, with the best day of the year so far, blue skies all day and being parked really close to the Moat. One of those days where after sitting & talking most of the day, at 4.30 we were still not really ready to leave. The Castle was well worth a visit much better than expected. A fabulous day out. Have added some more photos to website.

Drive it Day 24th April

Posted by Joe & Mary on April 26, 2016 at 6:55 AM Comments comments (0)

Drive it day this year was a slight improvement on last year, in as much as it did not actually rain all day, but it was still cold & grey especially on top of the Lookout, and we did have sleet when we arrived in Rye. Kevin organised the day suggesting meeting in Rye & spending some time visiting the old town & having a coffee or as in the case of Jayne & Mary a glass of wine. Then a run back across country to the Dog & Duck at Plucks Gutter...

The Cobweb Run this year, organised by Doug & Helen, started at The Alkham Cricket Club, with a lovely sunny morning after a week of rain was a real bonus. The route took in some narrow country lanes & flowing roads to the coffee stop, with homemade cakes at The Bull Inn at Bethersden, passing through Etchinghill, Newchurch & Woodchurch, Andy & Sandra did even more villages than the rest of us ,( but thats another story,) after coffee the sun had...
